Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for...
  • the tremendous grace of God
  • my family and friends
  • the health of my family and friends
  • my health
  • the fact that I have a job to return to when summer break is over
  • being able to find out next week who my new schoolbabies are...summer is going by way too quickly, but it's always fun to see your new class list
  • summer break
  • air conditioning, particularly during this mind-melting heat wave
  • my plants (so far) surviving the heat
  • clean, running water available whenever I want it
  • leftovers that make a grocery run unnecessary
  • getting to visit with my parents and eat supper with them Tuesday
  • a nice long visit with Mimi on Tuesday, power outage and her
  • some glorious, ground-soaking rain this week...I just love rainy days, especially in the summertime
  • the smell of summer rain
  • plans for the weekend that have left me deliriously excited...can't wait to blog about it
  • a good chat with Kate the other night...she's fabulous and I'm glad she's my friend
  • my Bubba's growing culinary skills...I think he's kinda wonderful
  • a nice early start this morning
  • new old ones are nearly six years old and look like this:
{We've had many, many, MANY good times together. So long, old friends.}
  • my simple little life
  • sunscreen
  • free time to spend cutting up a mess of fabric...well on my way to building up a stockpile
  • Anna Claire ordering some burp cloths this week...she's such a sweetie and her email made me smile (If you want to read a true testimony of faith and trusting the Lord, click here and follow the link she listed. Anna Claire and Jeff's story is amazing and I admire them so much. I'm glad to know them.)

Take some time this weekend to tell someone how much you love and appreciate them.

  1. Ok, no fair getting us all excited about your weekend plans and not giving us even a hint!
We need rain in the very worst way possible.
My daughter is making a dress right now. You gals that can sew are so smart.
    Have a great day.

  2. I am thankful for YOU and love and appreciate YOU! Even if we have only met in real life once I still think you are amazing and am thankful for how the Lord uses you!

  3. Thanks for your post, Julie. I look forward to them every week. Wow! I read Anna Claire's testimony. It really puts you in awe of the Lord. My family had a similar experience with my younger brother. He was born 1 pound 4 ounces, during a time when technology was not like how it is now. I was only five at the time, but I remember how small he was. He will be 25 next month! So, our God can do amazing things. That's my Thankful Thursday reflection. :-)

  4. Annesta, so excited that your daughter is making a dress! I'm not quite skilled enough to make big people clothes. I would love to see pictures when she finishes!

I actually traveled to your great state this weekend! I went to visit a friend in Dallas for a whirlwind weekend. So fun and I can't wait to blog about it! Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

PS--Aren't you near Houston? If I make the trip again, I may have to rent a car and meet you halfway!

  5. Lauren, you are too sweet, friend! I know I say this all the time, but I wish we lived closer so we could hang out and watch the Bachelor/ette and sew things :)

Thanks for stopping by, darling girl!

  6. Renita, I had no idea about your little brother's story. What a miracle! That made me shiver a little...God is so good! Thank you for sharing YOUR Thankful Thursday :) If you're working at registration this week, I'll see you up at the schoolhouse!

  7. I'm thankful for your adorable burp cloths! And thank you for your sweet words - you're just lovely :)

Your Rainbows made me laugh. I still have mine from college (yikes) but they make my feet smell...definitely time to get some new ones!

  8. Anna Claire, your burp cloths are in the mail! I hope you (and your friend) love them. I think you're pretty lovely, too :) My old Rainbows were definitely well-loved, but my new ones make my feet so happy. I have that same issue with my Sperrys from college but can't bring myself to get rid of them because I've gotten them so broken in.

Thanks for dropping in, friend, and I hope yall have a wonderful weekend!

Comments delight me! Thanks for stopping by.
