It's gonna be one of those nights

See that big ol' line of scary stretching all the way across the state? No escaping that one. It's headed our way. Bleh.

You could feel it coming all day. Unseasonably hot, humid, and the sky was that ominous shade of greenish gray.

Tornado weather doesn't usually scare me too bad, but it does make me put my game face on. The area where I live is surrounded by hills and trees, so I reckon you couldn't see the tornado until, well...until it showed up at your door! I want to make sure I'm ready if one pays us a visit.

I'm off to gather up my flashlight and candles and "tornado freak-out" supplies and wait for the sirens to wail. I also need to figure out a way to shield Frank from the hail. I might have to use my body if I can't figure out a better solution; it's a sacrifice that just may be necessary!

If you're in the midst of this now or in the path, stay safe! Happy tornado season to all.

  1. We got hit with the hail, wind and rain last night. I didn't even wake up. I was upset when I woke up at 5:30 this morning and my alarm and fan were not turned on. Stay safe girl!

  2. Thanks, Val! Waking up without your fan and alarm clock is a bad feeling. Hope you made it to work on time today!

So far it's just been crazy winds, some hail, and an absolutely breathtaking quantity of rain. I'm going to have to figure out tomorrow how much it was! There are a few limbs down, but nothing major. The rotation seemed to pass south of us, so it looks like I won't have to spend the night in my bathtub :) I hope!

Thanks for reading and commenting so regularly. It makes me smile every time!

  4. Leesha, I'm used to the weather that comes with tornadoes but the thought of an actual TORNADO headed my way? That scares the stink out of me!

Thanks for reading and for your comment! Hope your week is going well.

  6. Annesta, thanks for your prayers! We ended up with nearly 2 inches of rain in an hour, a few limbs down, and the power out for a little while. Overall, not bad. The worst of it skipped our fair city.

Thankfully, the sun was shining and the skies were blue today. God knew just what we needed after a stormy night!

  7. Thank you God that it was nice and sunny today. I don't know how much more of that nasty weather I could have taken! Talk about high blood pressure! Glad you are safe over there and didn't sustain too much damage. :-)

  8. Joanna Elaine, the gorgeous weather yesterday (and today) was just what we needed after that awful weather Monday. Hope your curtains can be washed up and fixed!
